The Sterling Associates' first fundraiser of the year entitled Aviva Comedy Night LIVE! was held on March 16 at Bar Lubitsch in West Hollywood. Guest comedians included Susanna Spies, Vicki Barbolak, Nick At Nite’s Funniest Mom in America, and Tracie Walker, a hilarious Atlanta-based comedian taking Los Angeles by storm, and headleiner Betsy Salkind, from the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Aviva volunteer. Even Aviva’s staff and volunteers hit the stage with performances by Henrietta Komras, Aviva’s Director of Training. Over 50 supporters got on their heehee and haha at the event while raising almost $1,000. Thank you to all who made this event so successful!

The Sterling Associates is a group of socially conscious women in the community who, through modest dues and small fundraisers, provide and participate in a variety of motivating, educational, and recreational activities for the teenage girls in residence at Aviva. Whether it is a holiday tree-trimming party at our Wallis Annenberg Center, a pool party at the home of one of Aviva’s supporters, or underwriting the annual Awards and Recognition Dinner for our residents, the Sterlings make a significant impact in the lives of the girls in our programs. They also experience the pleasure of sharing an activity with Aviva’s young clients.
