Our volunteers contribute their time, energy and skills to Aviva’s programs, whether it is teaching the residential girls yoga, helping a student with algebra or assisting in various other ways. Aviva’s volunteers make a positive impact on our young clients, serving as role models for children and teens in our programs, many of whom have had very few positive influences in their lives.

At Wallis Annenberg Center, the residents of our therapeutic program engage in many diverse activities. Volunteers can provide tutoring/homework assistance or lead a six-week class in an area of the volunteer’s interest such as dance, art, yoga, cooking, basketball, or photography. Our volunteer coordinator meets with volunteers, conducts orientations, and organizes projects based on the interests of our residents and the volunteer.

In our SAFE after school program, volunteers are needed to help elementary students with homework and recreational activities.

If a volunteer group would like to put on an event or activity for our children or teens girls, contact our volunteer coordinator to make arrangements.

For further information, contact our Volunteer Coordinator at 323.876.0550 x1107 or via email at volunteer@avivacenter.org.

Volunteering Legal Requirements: California law requires that all volunteers who will work one-on-one with the young people in our programs must be over 21 and are required to be fingerprinted and undergo a criminal background check.

Groups are exempt from fingerprinting and background checks since the activity is a one-time event.
